| Question 1: Interest in earning money is not a modern thing. However, nowadays in china, people are obsessed with the idea of making money and this materialistic obsession even seriously influenced education. More and more courses are being considered “useless” if they could not lead to a potential high-salary job. As a graduate, do you hold the same inclination? What measures can be adopted to stop the clashes between acquiring knowledge and possessing professional skills? Firstly , I want to say, I don’t hold the same inclination, I would not learn the professional skills only for the high salary. I would like to spend some time on learning other knowledge, although I would like to spend most of time on learning the professional skills. In my opinion, the professional skill is the primary, other knowledge is secondary, but it doesn’t mean other knowledge is useless. There are many way to stop the clashes between acquiring knowledge and possessing professional skills. I think the first way is education. people should be told that integrated development is right. and even some course could lead to a high-salary, but it is temporal, people should have further insight. The second way, some courses were seen as useless, but it is useful in fact. so that these course should be set as compulsory course. For example, when a person is good at the philosophy, but the philosophy can not lead to a high-salary, so that it is seen as useless, but it is useful in fact, it can give us the direction when dealing something, everyone should learn it. The third way, we should know what is primary and what is secondary, they difference is important and unimportant but not useful and useless. At the same time, everyone should develop his or her interest. If people are really interest in something, he or she would not just learn the course which can lead to a high-salary in short-term. When different people have the different interests, and do well in different things, the clashes between acquiring knowledge and possessing professional skills would no long exist! Question 2: In order to deter less-serious crimes such as drunk driving and theft, shaming punishment is used increasingly in the United States. By shaming the person concerned, the punishment is believed as the best petty crime deterrent. How do you think about this kind of punishment? Is it appropriate for the police in Shenzhen to deter the prostitution crime with the shaming punishment? In my opinion, the shaming punishment is a new way for deterring crimes, and I believe it is affective in United States although I am not American, because this way is used increasely in America. Is it appropriate for police in Shenzhen to deter the prostitution crime? I don’t think so. The main reason is the difference between China and America. China are developing country, and the economic is underdevelopment in the mass. Most of the prostitution criminals in Shenzhen are come from the remote area. In order to make live, they would like to sacrifice their dignity. May be they will feel shame just started, but the feeling will be disappear latterly. So that the shaming punishment would be ineffective. There is another reason to cause this punishment ineffective. most of prostitution criminals are come from other areas, and their families, friends and other people whom familiar with are not in Shenzhen, so they are not afraid of this kind of punishment. Question 3. 先成家还是先立业? As shown in the picture, a young man is on the way to company or school on the bicycle and it is windy. He was thought how to get marry without starting his career first. As far as I am concerned, I think he is right. The reason can be list as follows. First of all, most of man would not like to get married with his love until he have enough money to get marry or have a house. As a man, he should give his wife happiness which including the material possessions .The reason is very simple, because he loves her. In addition, a man usually have the powerful motion without considering the terrible consequences before his marriage. So that the marriage could became obstacle of his success to some extant. Question 4. At first, I want to say, I object it. I object it teach women how to be a suitable wife only for rich man, and I even more object it teach women how to hook a rich and successful man. In my opinion, it would bring about money worship that women only know the rich men and money, and money will become the men’s only goal. At the same time, a suitable wife for rich man maybe unsuitable for others, because as a suitable wife for a rich man , she should be fashional and favor of spending money. It isn’t wrong for a woman to marry partly for the money, but if she marry just for money,it is a serious wrong, because the money has became all of her life. and she doesn’t love her husband, what she love is only the money. After their marriage, she wouldn’t be happy. Question 5. Should Private Cars Be Encouraged in China? 1. I think private cars should be responsible for jams. 2. Over the past decade, the number of private car ownership in China increased approximately 8 times from 2.9million in 1996 to over 24 million in 2006, which is both cheerful and thought-provoking. 3. Cars take up more space but they carry fewer people. Some private car drivers, ignoring traffic regulations, drive only for the sake of their own convenience, blocking the way of other public transportation vehicles. And then traffic jams come into being. 4. At present, traffic problems are haunting nearly every city in China. The rapid increase of private car demands more roads and efficient administration. Otherwise, our cars will become an obstacle in our daily life. 5. In my point of view, measures should be taken to avoid the negative consequences caused by rapid growth of private Cars. 6. We should popularize private car in a planned way. 7. Government department must take precautions against the negative effects resulting from the dramatic increase of private cars. 8. More streets and roads should be built. In this way, the traffic density can be reduced. Question 6. As we can see from the news cartoon, relatively exorbitant profits of monopoly enterprises, mostly state-owned ones, have aroused widespread attention. In China, some groups are using their monopoly status to gain profits through unfair competition. Monopoly industries like electric power, finance, tobaccos, transportation, telecommunications and energy are gaining from unfair competition. It is known that State-owned enterprises, though owned by the public in name, monopolize the profits themselves. Enterprises' distribution of the profits themselves has resulted in unequal distribution and formed some groups of special interest. So it’s not surprise that a staff was making a call “I am just leisurely working here” in a gold ingot office which is the symbol of monopoly industries. Average wage income of workers in China's monopoly sectors has reached three times the national average. Furthermore, "Income is now deviating from the contributions of staffers in the monopoly sectors," said Bu Zhengfa, vice minister of Labor and Social Security, at a recent forum on salary management. The enlargement of the income gap between different strata, which is adverse to build a harmonious society, is the result of the unfair income distribution. Now, the government has initiated a reform of the income distribution system. The future reforms should concentrate on increasing incomes of poorer people, expanding the moderate-income population, effectively taxing high-income earners and banning illegal income. That means that the central State-owned enterprises will no longer pocket all their 600 billion yuan (75 billion U.S. dollars) profits but turn over revenues to investors. In my opinion, it is impractical and impossible to completely demolish the income gap over a short time. But it cannot be tolerated if the difference in income originates not from the different abilities of individuals but from the unfairness of social distribution. Though there will be many difficulties in the reforms, I believe that this situation can and will changed. Question 7. As shown in the picture, the father hold so high hopes for their children that he want his son to get a MBA degree when the child was so little. In my opinion, the society becomes more and more competitive, if somebody wants to get a good job he must have a high degree. So under this background, the parents want their children to got a high degree is reasonable. But it is not advisable to adopt this education method, and there is an old saying that more haste, less speed. Under this education method the child may feel high stressed and failed in the end. If the parents want their child success finally they should give free time and space to the child. Selecting the best education way for their child based on their child’s interest. In a word, high degree is important, but ability is more important. Chinese parents should pay more attention to the children’s interest and ability than the degree. Question 8、At first, I think we had to admire that North Koreans are patriotic, although the inclination of buying their domestic goods is unadvisable to some extant. In my opinion, the answer dedicate to the practical situation. As one of Chinese, I think buying the domestic goods doesn’t represent patriotism in the future, but it does at present. The main reason can be described as follow. it isn’t long time since china’s entry to WTO, and china need some time for transition because of Chinese unsubstantial foundation of industry. The second, after entry’s to WTO, china faces the keen competition, our national industry may be fall apart if the competition surpass the capacity of our national industry. So that everyone of Chinese have the duty to help our national industry to pass the transition. After the transition, our national industry would have some competition power, and everyone could buy anything without considering whether the goods are domestic or not. Until that time, the competition would help our national industry develop more quickly, and the inclination of buying the domestic goods would be go against our country’s development. In addition, I think all of us should not buy Japanese goods because it is a special country, the reason is known by everyone of Chinese. The last question’s answer is clear: the consequences would be serious if china adapts the self-sufficiency policy, and it had been described by many people, and I would not like to repeat it. Question 9. Recently, the safety of food has aroused more and more attention. As shown in the picture, the staffs are dealing with the yolk and yolk eggs which containing the Sudan red IV. Most people know that the Sudan red IV has the tending to cause cancer, it is very bad for health. Industrial dye had been found in food several years ago, but the dye is still used by illegal food manufacturers now, why? Firstly, I think the health department is inefficient because it isn’t the first time. How could they permit such a thing occur again? Secondly, the thing tells us a truth that some manufacturers are inglorious. In order to gain huge profits ,they would like to use Sudan red IV to turn egg yolks into the more expensive red variety ignoring Sudan red IV is bad for health, what is more it is bad for lives. The manufacturers should be cruelly punished. Thirdly, the manufacturers should be educated not to produce some food which could damage others’ health, and people should be educated to eat more healthily. It is also important . Question 10、The decision of Xiamen university has bring a great deal of debate, some people approve it, and some people object it. As far as I am concerned, I object it, and I believe most people would object it. The main reason is that it isn’t suitable for our country's basic condition at the present stage. They can be listed as follows. First of all, golf is the luxury sport and building the golf course needs a great deal of money and land. Our country’s education is fall behind many other’s on many aspects such as infrastructure, educational technology, educational level and so on. For example, we should spend more money for building infrastructure especially in the mountain area. In addition, playing golf is a kind of the communicate activities, and it can strengthen the people’s relations. but I want to say, there are so many kinds of communicate activities, why exactly choose such luxury activities? It is only just used to show their wealth and social status? It is unnecessary. I approve to set the golf course as selected course considering all the aspects. In a word, our country is developing country now and it isn’t suitable for our country’s basic condition. We can say, revolution is not successful yet, every of us should come on. Question 11. In my point, the Compensable lost-and-found company is acceptable, because it has satisfied people’s need, it is also a kind of labor and it should gain some money accordingly. There are the following reasons. Firstly, our ancient dynasties didn’t forbid giving reward to the persons who did not pocket the money. Secondly, in some foreign countries, there are legal rules prescribe clearly that the host should give monetary reward to the person and the percentage should not be less than 5% of the article’s price. It’s said that this phenomenon is usually ordinary in foreign countries. Finally, most people would like to give the founder something as reward when their things are returned. But the main problem is that how much host should pay for. And it can be negotiated by the both sides. As a result of all this, we can see that Compensable Lost-and-found Company is necessary in the society. But at the same time, government should take care of the company’s development. Question 12. I am very appreciative of my parents, they have supported me, given me necessary criticism, and taught me a great deal about how to live my life. Parents can be very important teachers in our lives. However, it isn’t completely true to say that parents are the best teachers. The reasons can be list as follows. Firstly, when we have grown up, we leave our parents for study or working, there is little time for us to get along with our parents. And they couldn’t tell us what we should do and what we shouldn’t do. However, parents are not always right. Secondly, when we grow up, our best teacher should be school teachers, books, newspapers or our friends. We can learn from then what we don’t know. As far as I am concerned, I think the best teacher for me now is the books. Because when I was studying and there are some problems, the best choice is to search books, because teachers or friends may not have time. Thirdly, the circumstances children of today grow up in are different from those the parents did in. Sometimes, parents can not keep up with the rapid paces of social and technological changes. For example, some old-fashioned parents are always puzzled at the thought of their children’s love to digital products. In a word, parents are primer to children’s lives, but they are not always the best teachers. Question 13. It is a well known that most of knowledge can be gained from books, but which isn’t everything. Compared with the knowledge gained from experience and knowledge gained from books, I think the former is more important. There are some reasons as follows. Firstly, we couldn’t understand the theories or concepts stated in books only by reading them. But when we have done experiments and seen actually the results, we could better understand the theories and hence retain them longer. Secondly, I majored in automation, I can realize clearly that books can only give us the theory of perfect state, when we apply these theory to practice, we can find they are not perfectly right. If we want to be successful in our professional field, the great deal of practical experience is necessary. Thirdly, we can not understand why we should learn so many courses until we do practical experience. In the practice, we can realize that the knowledge once regarded as dull thing is useful in fact. In a word, I think the former is more important, but if there is another choice I would like to choose the combination of them. Question 14. At first, I want to say, I don’t think so, and the reasons can be list as follow. Firstly, it is true that television may became the obstacle of communication to some extant if we spend a great deal of time on watching TV, but we can’t make a conclusion that television has destroyed communication among friends and family, it exaggerates its negative effect. Secondly, most of people wouldn’t like to spend a great deal of time on watching TV, the time spend on the watching TV is only a part of them. They also can make the choice to turn off the TV and do something more active. Watching TV could make them relax, which could give them good mood and it is useful while communicating with others. Thirdly, TV could give us the topic in the communication instead of destroying the communication, because most of people would like to talk about the TV program of which they are favor. In a word, television has greatly improve people’s lives, and its advantages far outweigh its disadvantages. Question 15. As shown in the picture, a old man is putting his arm around a little dog at Spring Festival and he is thinking that the dog is his baby when his son isn’t at home. I feel that the old man is very lonely. Spring Festival is a Chinese traditional festival which brings happy to everyone and every family, but he feel alone instead of happy. The phenomenon are more and more widespread partly because of the pace of lives are more and more quickly. But I think it is not a really reason, it is not worth of spending the spring festival on the working or other things. Spring Festival is a day for family reunion, it is the most important day in china. The picture is worth of we young people’s consider. As a son or daughter, how could we willing to let our parents feel lonely at spring festival? And the spring festival may the only time for us to spend with them! It is shame for young people to make their parents feel lonely. Question 16. Based on my experience and what I have learned, I believe that success comes more often from cautious planning and hard working than taking chances or luck. So that I agree with the quotation above. No one can achieve success without hard work. There is a word say good lucky are favor of people who have make the ready. So even there is lucky, it is belong to the people who work hard. For example, there are many famous persons in world, such as Newton, Einstein, they spent most of their time in the research works. Because of their enduring hard working, they discovered many scientific and technological methods and theories that has drastically changed the whole universe. If they didn’t work hard. we may don’t know the gravity and the theory of relativity now. Perhaps luck could be contribute to success to some extant, but its effect is little. For example, when two excellent athletes are at same level, the winner would be the one who have the lucky. However, there are stronger reason to say that success comes more often from hard work than luck, everyone should work hard if he or she want to be success. Question 17. Forward-looking, cultivated, could consider the question in terms of staffs Recently, many reports reveal that the relationship between the boss and staff is not good. They seldom talk to one another. Most of the staff say that their bosses are bad tempered and their boss always scold them without reasons. Thus, they are unwilling to communicate with their boss. How can the situation be improved? The boss should improve themselves and to have a good quality. In this essay, I am going to state three qualities that are important for being a good boss. A good boss should have good-mannered. When the staffs have done something wrong, the boss should not scold them at once. He/she should give their staff chances to improve. If the staff still doesn’t improve it, he/she may give them some warnings, rather than scolding them. Sometimes, scolding them would have an adverse effect. They will be very angry and won’t follow your instructions later. Besides, if the staffs are late to the office, the boss should listen to their explanations. Sometimes, there may be a traffic accident and will cause serious traffic congestion. Moreover, the boss should be considerate. He/she should not always ask the staff to work overtime. The staffs are already very tired after a long day of work and they don’t have much energy to work for extra hours. If they still continue to work, they can’t easily concentrate and the work efficiency is much lowered. They may also make many mistakes while they are working. The boss should not always ask them to go back to the office when they are having holidays as they have to restore their energy after working for a whole week. In addition, if the staffs have to work on some kind of projects, the boss should not force them to finish them in a short period of time. He/she should give sufficient time to them to work on it, otherwise the staff may finish the projects . Apart from being considerate, the boss should be fair to all staff. He/she should not be partial to someone. It is very unfair to the other staff. They would be very angry and will not work for you wholeheartedly. The boss should equally allocate (分派, 分配) the work to each staff. The workload of each staff should not be too heavy. If there are not enough staffs in the office, the boss should ask more staff to help. All in all, it is very important to be a good boss. The boss should communicate more with the staff and they will have better understanding between one another. If the boss is a good one, all the staff would respect him/her. They would be happier while working and a sense of belonging is also developed towards the office. Question 18. Firstly, if you read a lot of books in different fields, you will get much information and have a large stock of information .you can enlarge your vision by the way of reading. you may receive any information that you want. the more books you read ,the more knowledge you can acquire. You are never too old to learn. Reading helps you enrich your nature personality. Reading can make us feel that the life is significant. Maybe reading is the important part of our life. Secondly, considering a ready man. That is, if you discuss a problem with other people, you will be resourceful. When you discuss something with somebody, you will find that different people have different opinions. So you will think all-round, but not one-sided. And you will gradually resourceful. The 3rd, writing an exact man means someone who writes frequently should think about a problem again and again or prepare fully for it. They observe the world carefully and think about them carefully. They may get more information from the world around. So they will be exact. Question 19. Different people may have different attitudes towards study .As the saying goes “Crafty men contemn studies, simple men admire them and wise men use them.” To the former they may regard studies as uselessness since they can make a living or earn good fortunes by their skills, to the latter they admire studies because of their ignorance, such as the country people. As for me, I think we’d better make good use of study. Neither likes the crafty men nor the simple men. Through studies, we can get knowledge and which is the most valuable spiritual property for ones life growing. The more we study, the more literal we became. To some extent, we can say knowledge is the essential element to success. There are many examples to illustrate this. For instance, Pecon says: “knowledge is power!” This proves the importance of study. Nowadays, we also heard some voice that study is useless because after graduate from college, it is difficult to find a job for students. Of course, this is true. However, it is a social problem relate wither social system. After all, many high students still make every effort to entry to university, and we now study here to get our master degree. With the knowledge we get from study, we not only can improve ourselves but also make contributions to our society .Suppose if the whole nation pays no attention to study, how can her our country became prosperous. All in all, to be a wise man and to be the master of knowledge it will benefit you a lot, both in material and spiritual field. Question 20. Human Activity and the Earth There is no doubt that human activity has an effect on the planet. We see the evidence of mankind’s endeavors all around us. While some of man’s accomplishments, such as the building of transportation systems and the consistent supply of potable water, have made Earth a better place for people to live, they have not come without cost. Overall, it seems that human activity harms the Earth more than it benefits it. For example, the transportation systems that benefit mankind also create pollution and use up valuable energy resources. While we cannot do without transportation these days, we cannot ignore the fact that it has an adverse effect on the planet. Furthermore, those advances that benefit people do not benefit all the life on Earth. Deforestation endangers many animals, and mankind’s great thirst for water and other resources leads to the extinction of many plant forms. In addition, accomplishments such as the supply of potable water to a community are only responses to problems that mankind created in the past. It was man that made the water unfit to drink in the first place. Finally, the damage that human activity causes will eventually have a negative effect on people. They will also suffer the effects of pollution and diminishing natural resources. In conclusion, it seems apparent that man’s activity benefits primarily himself, not the Earth. Moreover, those benefits are only short-term advantages, and man will also suffer the negative effects of his activity in the future. The Earth does not have an inexhaustible supply of resources, so every effort should be made to conserve resources and limit the impact of human activity on the planet. |
